About Credano
Credano is a loan comparison website operating in 10 European markets: Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Estonia, Lithuania, Spain, Ukraine, Latvia, the Netherlands, and Italy. We help borrowers compare consumer loan offers from trusted lenders side by side, so they can find a suitable rate, amount, and term in minutes.
Credano is a comparison website, not a lender. We do not make lending decisions, set interest rates, or provide loans. The offers we show are published by third-party lenders, and the final terms any borrower receives depend on that lender’s own assessment.
How Credano makes money
Credano is free for borrowers. When someone chooses an offer and applies with a lender, Credano may receive a commission from that lender. This never changes the price a borrower pays, and our comparisons are not ranked by commission alone.
Credano Research
Through Credano Research, we publish original data and statistics on borrowing and consumer credit across Europe. Because we track live lender data in ten markets, we can compare borrowing costs across countries in ways that public datasets alone cannot.
Our research follows a few simple standards:
- Primary sources. Figures come from Credano’s own lender data and from official sources such as the European Central Bank and Eurostat, each cited on the page.
- Published methodology. Every study explains how its numbers are calculated and states its limits.
- Free to cite. Journalists, researchers, and writers are welcome to cite our data with a link to the source page.
- Kept current. Each study shows when it was last updated.
Who is behind the research
Credano was founded by Sampsa Vainio, who is the named author of Credano Research. Studies are compiled from Credano’s lender data and reviewed before publication. For questions about a figure or a methodology, or to request the underlying data, get in touch.
